Row for Dough Fundraiser 2019

Howdy friends, family, and alumni of Texas A&M Crew!

It’s that time of the season for Crew to begin their fundraising events and that means that we need your help! The Row for Dough fundraiser is coming up in a few weeks on November 17, 2019. Crew will go to Lake Bryan and row for exactly one hour on the morning of the 17th. For every 1,000 meters completed in that one hour, a monetary donation of your choosing will be made on your behalf. You can put your donation towards a specific rower or towards a specific boat. For those that are not aware, in an hour a crew boat can usually complete about a 10-12k meter piece, so if you are interested in pledging, please keep this in mind! If you do not want to donate based on every 1k a boat rows, you can donate a flat rate instead!

Send your donations to smcquaid@tamu.edu with the below information:

Name, email, and phone number, the rower or boat you are sponsoring, pledge amount, per 1k or or a flat donation, cash or check.

We will also be posting about Row for Dough on our Facebook page and Instagram for you to send to other family members and friends, as well as sent out to our rowers so they can also spread the word. This is our main fundraiser of the year, so please help spread the word! We are looking to use the money that we receive from this fundraiser on boat repairs, maintaining and updating our equipment, and improving our boathouse. Any donation helps, big or small!

If you have any questions concerning this event, as well as any other problems or questions you have with Crew, email me at smcquaid@tamu.edu and I will respond ASAP! I hope to be in contact with you soon and as always, thank you so much for your continued support to our team. We could not do it without you!

Row for Dough Fundraiser 2018

This fall, Texas A&M Crew is hosting their annual Row for Dough event, their main fundraiser for the semester. In this event, the team will be put into their racing lineups and row for 60 minutes. Row for Dough will be held Saturday, October 20th. Parents, donors, friends, and companies will choose a boat or rower to sponsor with a money pledge per one kilometer (or base donation) that that rower or boat completes in the 60-minute timeframe. Most crew boats will complete about 10-12 kilometers in one hour, depending on their speed. This is a great opportunity for parents, alumni and friends to show their support for the team!

Texas A&M Crew is entirely supported through funds from team membership dues and donations. Our plan for the upcoming year is to raise enough money to do purchase a new shipping container for storage of the nine new ergometer machines that were recently bought, perform boat maintenance and repair, as well as complete other miscellaneous repairs on the boatyard and equipment. With our hard-working team, having as many boats up and running as possible is essential to the development, growth, and competitive abilities of the group.

If you are interested in pledging money to this fundraiser, please send an email to: vicepresident@crew.tamu.edu with 1) the name of the rower or the boat you want to sponsor, 2) how much money you are willing to pledge per 1k completed, 3) how you plan on paying (cash or check).

Thank you so much for being part of the Texas A&M Crew family!

For team members: No one is required to come to this (other than the officers), but you're welcome to come and meet prospective novices :) Prospective novices: come and get all the introductory information on our team! We'll be talking about rowing, our team, the regattas we attend, as well as other important information and needed paperwork.

For potential novices: please come out and get some time in a boat. Here we will be teaching you all the necessary components of rowing and allowing you to get some much needed time and practice in a boat with other novices. You must have an AOR signed and approved to row, so make sure that is done. We will talk about this at the informational and have computers set up for you to complete them.

The application must be filled out by both returning members and new rowers, and must be completed and turned in by 8pm on January 29th. The link to the application will be posted to our Facebook page, as well as this website when we have it up and running.

For team members: the same rules for the ice cream social and the learn to rows apply here (please come, if you have an excuse, etc). New Novices: come out and get more much needed practice time in a boat. We'll be working on rowing technique for the quickly upcoming regattas. Same as the Learn to Rows: one of these is mandatory.

Row for Dough 2016

Howdy friends, family and alumni of Texas A&M Crew!

I hope you are all well and have been having a great year so far. If you haven't received an email from me before, my name is Kassie Stagner and I am the External Relations Officer for Texas A&M Crew this year. I am looking forward to interacting and possibly meeting all of you!

This post is mainly focused on our Row for Dough fundraiser coming up in a few weeks on October 15th. While the main idea of the fundraiser is outlined in the information sheet attached below, I will give you a brief synopsis of how it works.

Basically what we will do is we will go out to Lake Bryan on that Saturday morning and row for an hour on the water. For each 1K completed, a monetary donation of your choosing will be made on your behalf. For those that are not aware, in an hour a crew boat can usually complete about a 10-12K meter piece, so if you are interesting in pledging, please keep this in mind!

Below I have attached the information form and the pledge form. This will also be posted on our Facebook page, our website, and sent out to our rowers. If you have any questions about this form, please contact me individually at fundraising@crew.tamu.edu.

This is our main fundraiser of the year, so please help spread the word! We are looking to use the money that we receive from this fundraiser on boat repairs, buying needed equipment, and maintaining and improving our boathouse.

Please contact me if you are considering pledging money to our cause and I will help you get set up, or if you have any questions concerning this event, as well as any other problems or questions you have with Crew and I can try to help you get those sorted out! I hope to be in contact with some of you soon!

As always, thank you so much for your continual support to our team. We could not do it without you!
