Practices

Texas A&M Crew prepares for races with a combination of water practices at Lake Bryan and land practices at the various rec centers on Texas A&M campus.  For land workouts, we use rowing ergometers and also complete strength-training exercises such as free weights, running stairs, and body circuits.

How do we assign practices?

There are 9 weekly scheduled times for water and erg practices. Rowers sign up for practice times using the team's Google document, and coaches will use this sign-up to schedule each rower for 2-4 water practices, in a week. This practice schedule is periodically reviewed and adjusted with upcoming events and as individual schedules naturally change.

There is an all-team land practice every Monday from 6:15-7:15 am.  Meet in the Rec, by the stairs and front desk, for these workouts. Lastly, there will be one land workout to be completed on your own time. These workouts are erg-based. There are 4 Concept2 ergs at the Student Recreational Center on campus that can be used for these.
