Howdy! My name is Emily Zimmerman and I’m a Junior from Fort Hood, TX. I’ve been a part of crew since my freshman year of high school, and this is going on my third year on TAMU Crew. My favorite part about rowing is that it is the ultimate team sport and I truly love being a part of the team here at A&M! Outside of crew, I love to spend time with my friends, family, and my dog.

Will Purvines || Neuroscience PhD

Howdy! My name is Will Purvines and Im a PhD student from Amarillo, TX. Ive been a part of TAMU Crew since undergrad and am excited for the upcoming season! I love evening practices at lake bryan and the camaraderie that comes with rowing competitively. Outside of crew, I work in a neuroscience lab and enjoy being outside and spending time with friends, family and my cat.

Howdy! My name is Grant Wallis and I’m a sophomore Materials Science and Engineering major. I hadn’t rowed before coming to college, but I’m glad that I joined TAMU Crew. Outside of rowing, I spend most of my time studying and reading.

Howdy! I am a sophomore Biology major with hopes to be a nurse one day. I am from the dry desert of El Paso, TX so coming here was my first experience with rowing. I have grown to enjoy the sport and the people very much. I am excited to expand my leadership role on the team and getting to meet lots of new people. Other than secretarying and rowing I work at the Writing Center on campus and I am also on the club swim team.

Howdy! I am a sophomore chemical engineering major from San Antonio, TX. This is my second year with Texas A&M Crew, and I’ve loved every second of it. I enjoy being outdoors and listening to music. I am currently in the process of training for my first marathon.

Paul Bagley || Construction Science 2026

Howdy! My name is Paul Bagley. I am from Dallas, Texas and I rowed in High school for White Rock Rowing. I have the distinct honor of getting to be the head coach of TAMU Crew. I am a Construction Science Major class of 2026. Outside of rowing I love to spend time biking, being in nature, and spending time with friends.

Coaching Consult

Jere has found his way to Texas A&M Rowing via a circuitous path and career the nuclear industry. In an earlier career he was a rowing coach at Purdue University where he also was a collegiate rower. Jere rowed at Purdue in the mid-1980s and coached there from 1996-2004. He was the Freshman/Novice Men’s coach for six years from 1995-2002, the Varsity Women’s coach for two years from 2002-2004, and the Rigger/Boatman for the whole eight years.

Jere is originally from Ohio where he played football and basketball in middle and high school. He has two children, both of whom were also athletes, and both rowed for Purdue with one still there rowing now. Coach Jenkins is looking forward to helping out the Aggies build boat speed for the spring racing season.

Howdy! My name's Whitney Jung, I'm from Omaha, Nebraska, and I'm a nuclear engineer in the class of 2026. I joined rowing in the winter of my freshman year, having never rowed before, and I've loved it ever since. I've met some of my favorite people through this sport, and I love the morning sunrises at Lake Bryan. Outside of crew, I play guitar and study.
